Elizabeth finally told the complete story.
Thomas had three biological children.
Marissa.
Clara.
Adrian.
Edward discovered the pregnancy and decided that if he controlled the children, he could control the future of Whitmore Infrastructure.
Hospital records were altered.
Birth certificates were forged.
One child was declared dead.
Another was given a false identity.
Adrian was handed to Edward.
Marissa was hidden.
Clara was placed with Margaret Bell.
The fourth infant was unrelated to Thomas.
His name was Nathan.
Nathan was the son of Michael Whitmore, an accountant who had discovered Edward's crimes.
Michael was killed.
Thomas found Nathan hiding at the accounting office.
He saved him.
Nathan's death was staged.
He disappeared.
Daniel finally confessed.
“I betrayed Thomas.”
Marissa stared at him.
“Why?”
“Edward had my daughter.”
He had given Edward a safe-house location.
He believed he could save his daughter.
Instead, Edward used the information to reach Thomas.
Daniel had lived with that guilt for decades.
Elizabeth explained that twenty million dollars had been used to protect the children and Nathan.
Then Edward said:
“Clara was mine.”
Elizabeth shook her head.
“No.”
“She carried my name.”
“She carried your legal name.”
Elizabeth looked at Marissa.
“But biologically, Clara was Thomas's daughter.”
