Chapter 10 - The Man Who Knew Everything

Edward smiled.
“You've been very busy.”
Adrian stepped forward.
“You killed Thomas.”
Edward's smile disappeared.
“I did what I had to do.”
“You erased Marissa.”
“I protected the company.”
“You killed Ethan.”
Edward said nothing.
That silence was enough.
Daniel raised a revolver.
Edward laughed.
“You still think a gun solves this?”
Then Edward looked at Marissa.
“Remove the pendant.”
She refused.
“You know what it contains?”
“Yes.”
“The original trust key.”
Edward nodded.
“You finally understand.”
He offered Adrian a deal.
Sign over the voting trust.
Convince Marissa to surrender her rights.
And Edward would disappear.
Adrian pretended to consider it.
Then a gunshot sounded upstairs.
The lights went out.
When they returned, the computer drive was gone.
Edward smiled.
“You brought me exactly what I needed.”
Then he turned toward Richard.
“Tell him what Elizabeth did the night Marissa was born.”
Richard went pale.
“She made a choice.”
Edward smiled.
“She gave you to me.”
Adrian stared at him.
“What?”
Richard whispered:
May you like
“She gave you to Edward.”
Adrian's world stopped.
