Chapter 5 - The Evidence She Tried to Hide

Daniel called me early Monday morning.
“We found the original records.”
I drove straight to his office.
He placed a file on the table.
Inside were copies of emails, bank transfers, and communication between Teresa and Mason.
I read the first message.
My hands started shaking.
It was from Teresa.
“Once Connor signs the final papers, everything will be under our control.”
I looked up.
“Final papers?”
Daniel nodded.
“There’s more.”
He opened another document.
A plan.
A timeline.
A step-by-step strategy.
The birthday party was only the beginning.
First, isolate Amy.
Then create the idea that Teresa was managing the household.
Then convince Connor to sign financial authority documents.
Then transfer ownership of the property.
My own mother had created a plan to destroy my family.
And the worst part?
She almost succeeded.
I closed the folder.
“What happens now?”
Daniel looked at me.
“Now we make sure she never gets another chance.”
I returned home that night.
Amy was holding Frederick near the window.
She looked at me.
“What did you find?”
I walked over and hugged them both.
“The truth.”
For the first time in weeks, Amy cried.
Not because she was afraid.
Because she finally felt safe.
But neither of us knew the truth would soon become even darker.
Because Teresa had one more secret.
A secret that would explain why she needed my money…
May you like
Why she wanted my house…
And why she was willing to destroy her own son’s family to get it.
