Chapter 10 - The Truth Comes Out

The courtroom was silent.

Teresa sat across from me.

For the first time, she looked different.

Not powerful.

Not confident.

Just angry.

Her attorney argued that she was only trying to protect me.

That Amy had influenced my decisions.

That the documents were misunderstandings.

Then Daniel stood.

And everything changed.

He presented the bank records.

The fake deed.

The forged signature analysis.

The hidden company documents.

The messages between Teresa and Mason.

One by one.

The lies collapsed.

The judge looked directly at Teresa.

“Can you explain why these documents were created without your son’s knowledge?”

Teresa remained silent.

For the first time, she had no story.

No excuse.

No control.

Then Daniel presented the final piece of evidence.

A recording.

A conversation Teresa had with Mason.

Her own voice filled the courtroom.

“When Connor signs everything, we won’t have to worry about Amy anymore.”

The room went completely silent.

Amy held my hand.

I looked at Teresa.

The woman who gave me life.

The woman who tried to take everything from me.

The judge ordered a full investigation.

The temporary protection order was approved.

And Teresa lost control over every account connected to my finances.

Outside the courtroom, reporters waited.

But I didn’t care about the attention.

I only cared about one thing.

My family.

That night, I returned home.

Frederick was sleeping.

Amy was sitting beside him.

She looked at me.

“Is it over?”

I sat beside her.

“No.”

I looked toward the window.

“Not yet.”

Because I knew Teresa.

She had spent her entire life fighting to control people.

And losing control was the one thing she could never accept.

The legal battle was only the beginning.

Because Teresa still had one final secret hidden away.

A secret that would change everything we thought we knew about our family.
