Daniel read the document three times.
As if his mind refused to accept it.
Emily watched his face.
“Who is it?”
He slowly lifted his eyes.
“Evelyn Hale.”
The name echoed through the room.
The missing heir.
The woman Vanessa tried to erase.
Alive.
And closer than anyone expected.
Margaret stepped forward.
“I knew she survived.”
Daniel turned.
“You knew?”
“Yes.”
“Where is she?”
Margaret hesitated.
Then answered:
“She has been working under a different name.”
Emily looked confused.
“Why hide?”
Margaret looked at the documents.
“Because Vanessa made sure nobody would believe her.”
The file revealed the truth.
Evelyn had spent years collecting evidence.

Waiting for the right moment.

Because the necklace incident had exposed Vanessa publicly.

She spoke through the security system.
“I know what you found.”
Daniel walked toward the screen.
“What do you want?”
Vanessa smiled.
Not the confident smile from before.
A desperate one.
“The truth.”
Emily frowned.
“The truth?”
Vanessa looked directly into the camera.
“Because if I go down…”
She paused.
“You all go down with me.”
The screen went black.
A few seconds later, another message appeared.
A name.
A name nobody expected.
The person who had helped Vanessa.
The person who had been hidden behind every lie.
