Harrison finally admitted the truth.
During a separation from him, Evelyn became pregnant by another man.
The Sterling family feared scandal.
The baby was quietly born outside New York.
Rose Hale, Evelyn’s closest friend, agreed to raise her.
That baby was Nora.
Evelyn visited whenever she could.
She paid Rose privately and planned to reveal everything when Nora was older.
Then Evelyn discovered the financial crimes.
Suddenly Nora became dangerous leverage.
So Evelyn erased every connection between them.
Lucas stared at Harrison.
“You knew I had a sister.”
“Yes.”
“And never told me?”
“I thought she was safer away from us.”
Nora laughed bitterly.
“Safer?”
She stepped closer.
“You let me grow up believing my mother abandoned me before I was even born.”
Harrison lowered his head.
“I was trying to protect everyone.”
Nora’s voice turned cold.
“No.”
“You were protecting the Sterling name.”
Then a scream came from upstairs.
Harrison’s medication had been poisoned.
And police found Nora’s fingerprints on the bottle.
