Chapter 17 - The Counterattack
Christopher did not return to court first.
He went to the board.
Every independent director received Thomas's video.
Every regulator received the ledgers.
The trustee received the notarized amendment.
Estelle was removed as chair pending investigation.
Alexander resigned as CFO.
Then Juliette called Naomi.
She wanted a deal.
She was terrified.
Not of Christopher.
Of Estelle.
Juliette agreed to testify that Estelle had recruited her eighteen months earlier.
Her job had been simple at first.
Convince Christopher that Emma was unstable.
Separate them emotionally.
Create enough conflict that Christopher might send Emma to boarding school.
Then the trust issue emerged.
Estelle became more aggressive.
Juliette claimed she never intended to kill Emma.
Christopher did not believe her.
