Helena struck back publicly.
A lawsuit appeared claiming I was not legally entitled to the Vale trust.
The filing alleged Thomas Vale was not my biological father.
Tabloids exploded.
Television trucks surrounded the hotel.
Investors panicked.
The board suspended all major decisions.
Then Helena produced a birth amendment.
It named another father.
A dead investment banker.
The document looked authentic.

Marcus retrieved my sealed original birth record.
DNA testing confirmed Thomas was my father.
The amendment had been filed twelve days after my mother died.
Someone had forged a deceased woman’s authorization.
The clerk who processed it confessed after investigators confronted her with a wire transfer.
Helena’s defense began collapsing.
Then Lucas brought me another problem.
“The board is voting tomorrow.”
“On what?”
“To sell the flagship properties immediately.”
“They can’t.”
“They think they can.”
