Chapter 9 - The Trust Richard Hid

The investigation into Richard’s estate uncovered a forgotten family trust.

Not millions.

Not secret billionaire money.

Something more useful.

A commercial building in Brooklyn purchased thirty-two years earlier.

No mortgage.

Current value:

$6.7 million.

Vivian’s eyes lit up when she heard.

“We’re saved.”

Then the attorney continued.

“The trust does not belong to you.”

Vivian froze.

Beneficiaries:

Daniel.

His sister Lauren.

And any descendants.

Richard had intentionally excluded Vivian.

Daniel looked shocked.

“Why?”

The attorney opened an old letter.

Richard had written:

Vivian has never understood the difference between wealth and spending. This asset must survive both of us.

Vivian left the room crying.

Emma felt almost sorry for her.

Almost.

Then Daniel learned one more thing.

The trust required unanimous consent from both siblings before any sale.

Lauren immediately said:

May you like

“No.”

The mansion would still have to go.
