CHAPTER 15: The Founder Returns to Take Everything

The screen went black.

But Alexander Blackwood’s voice remained in everyone’s mind.

“The final heir will choose who lives and who falls.”

Nobody spoke.

Because the meaning was clear.

This was no longer a fight for money.

No longer a battle over inheritance.

This was a war for the future of the Blackwood family.

Emma stared at the empty screen.

“Why me?”

Nobody answered immediately.

Because everyone knew the answer was complicated.

She wasn’t born a Blackwood.

She wasn’t raised in the mansion.

She wasn’t trained to manipulate people.

She didn’t grow up surrounded by power.

And that was exactly why she was dangerous.

Victor looked at her.

“Because Alexander knows something.”

Emma turned.

“What?”

Victor replied:

“Power corrupts the person who wants it.”

A pause.

“But it cannot corrupt someone who never wanted it.”

Ethan watched Emma.

For years, he thought strength came from wealth.

From influence.

From control.

But now he understood.

The strongest person in the room had always been the one who had nothing to prove.

Ryan closed the archive file.

“We need to find Alexander.”

Victor shook his head.

“No.”

Everyone looked at him.

“We need to understand him first.”

Noah frowned.

“Understand the man who destroyed our lives?”

Victor nodded.

“Yes.”

A pause.

“Because Alexander doesn’t think he is the villain.”

Thirty Years Earlier

Alexander Blackwood built the foundation of the empire.

But unlike William

He never believed in love.

He believed in control.

To him, families were weaknesses.

Emotions were weaknesses.

Trust was weakness.

His philosophy was simple:

The person with the most information controls everyone.

He created the Inner Circle.

A hidden network of powerful people.

Their purpose?

To make sure the Blackwood name survived forever.

No matter the cost.

But William disagreed.

William believed the empire belonged to the family.

Alexander believed the family belonged to the empire.

That disagreement became a war.

And everyone became a victim.

Back in the archive

Sophia found another document.

“Wait.”

Everyone turned.

She held up an old contract.

“This is about Elena.”

Noah immediately moved closer.

“What does it say?”

Sophia read slowly.

“Alexander Blackwood approved the removal of Elena Voss from the Blackwood succession.”

Noah’s expression changed.

“He ordered it.”

Sophia nodded.

For years, Noah believed Margaret destroyed his life.

But now

He discovered someone above her.

Someone who started the entire plan.

“He took my mother.”

His voice was filled with anger.

Emma placed a hand on his shoulder.

“Noah.”

He looked at her.

“Don’t let him turn you into him.”

Noah looked away.

Because he knew she was right.

Alexander wanted them angry.

Divided.

Controlled.

Suddenly

A sound came from the archive entrance.

Footsteps.

Slow.

Confident.

Everyone turned.

A woman stood there.

Claire.

Ethan immediately stepped forward.

“You.”

Claire looked at him.

Pain filled her eyes.

“I know what you think.”

Ethan’s voice was cold.

“You lied to me.”

Claire lowered her head.

“Yes.”

Noah moved closer.

“Were you working for Alexander?”

Claire hesitated.

That hesitation answered everything.

Emma looked at her.

“Why?”

Claire looked at Ethan.

And for the first time

She stopped pretending.

“Because I had no choice.”

Ethan laughed bitterly.

“No choice?”

“You were given a family.”

“You were given everything.”

Claire’s eyes filled with tears.

“You don’t understand.”

“Then explain.”

Claire took a deep breath.

“When Margaret adopted me
”

A pause.

“She didn’t save me.”

“She owned me.”

Everyone listened.

“Alexander trained Margaret.”

“Margaret trained me.”

Claire looked at Ethan.

“I was raised to believe my only purpose was protecting the Blackwood empire.”

Emma asked:

“And the attack on me?”

Claire looked ashamed.

“I didn’t know she would push you.”

Ethan’s expression changed.

“You helped plan it.”

Claire nodded.

“Yes.”

A tear fell.

“But when I saw you on the floor
”

Her voice broke.

“I realized what I had become.”

Nobody spoke.

Then Ryan asked:

“Why come here now?”

Claire looked at Emma.

“Because Alexander is going to kill someone tonight.”

Everyone froze.

“Who?”

Claire looked at Ethan.

“William.”

The room became silent.

Claire continued:

“He knows William is alive.”

“He knows you found the truth.”

“And he knows William is the only person who can expose him publicly.”

Victor immediately grabbed his phone.

No signal.

Ryan looked alarmed.

“We need to move.”

But Emma noticed something.

Claire wasn’t afraid for herself.

She was afraid for them.

“Claire.”

She looked at Emma.

“What else?”

Claire hesitated.

Then whispered:

“Alexander has one final weapon.”

“What?”

Claire answered:

“Proof that can destroy Ethan.”

Ethan’s face changed.

“What proof?”

Claire looked at him.

“The truth about your mother’s death.”

Silence.

Everyone knew this was the wound Ethan never healed from.

“My mother died in an accident.”

Claire shook her head.

“No.”

Ethan froze.

“She didn’t.”

The words hit him harder than anything before.

Claire continued:

“Your mother was killed because she discovered Alexander’s plan.”

William closed his eyes.

Because he knew.

Ethan looked at his father.

“You knew?”

William couldn’t answer.

That silence was enough.

Ethan stepped back.

“My whole life
”

His voice shook.

“My whole life everyone knew except me.”

Emma moved toward him.

But Ethan stepped away.

Not from her.

From everyone.

Then

A loud sound came from outside.

A car.

Then another.

Then dozens.

Ryan looked through the window.

His face changed.

“We’re surrounded.”

Victor looked outside.

And for the first time

He looked afraid.

“Alexander is here.”

The mansion doors opened.

A group of men entered.

Behind them

An elderly man walked slowly inside.

Elegant.

Calm.

Powerful.

Alexander Blackwood.

He looked at the family he had destroyed.

Then smiled.

“My children.”

Nobody answered.

Alexander looked at Emma.

“So
”

A pause.

“The girl who was supposed to be forgotten.”

He stepped closer.

“You are the one holding my empire.”

Emma stared at him.

“I don’t want your empire.”

Alexander smiled.

“That’s why you are the most dangerous person here.”

Then he looked at Ethan.

“You still think this is about inheritance.”

A pause.

“You are wrong.”

Alexander turned toward the entire room.

“This is about deciding whether the Blackwood family deserves to exist.”

He handed Ethan a file.

“Open it.”

Ethan looked inside.

His face slowly changed.

Because inside was a document proving something impossible.

Emma Carter was not only the guardian of the Blackwood inheritance.

She was the final blood descendant of the original Blackwood founder.

Everyone froze.

Alexander smiled.

“The girl you underestimated
”

A pause.

“Was always the rightful heir.”

Emma stared at the document.

Her entire identity changed again.

May you like

And Alexander whispered:

“Welcome home, Emma Blackwood.”
