Chapter 4– The Speech Nobody Expected
One year later, Alexander accepted another national award.
This time the ballroom looked almost identical.
The same donors.
The same cameras.
The same applause.
But one thing had changed.
Alexander walked onto the stage...
Beside Matthew.
When the applause faded, Alexander didn't begin speaking.

The ballroom became completely silent.
Not because Matthew was deaf.
Because everyone else suddenly understood what they had been missing.
Alexander announced that the Vale Foundation would launch a nationwide initiative providing free sign-language education for schools, hospitals, and public service workers.
