CHAPTER 15 THE WOMAN WHO KNEW THE FIRST SECRET.

The chapel was frozen in silence.

Nobody moved.

Nobody spoke.

Because standing in the doorway...

Was a woman who should not exist.

A woman whose name had been written into the past.

A woman everyone believed had died thirty years ago.

Olivia stared at her.

Her breathing became uneven.

She didn't know why.

She had never met this woman.

Not in this lifetime.

Not in any memory she could remember.

And yet...

Something inside her recognized her.

A strange feeling.

A connection deeper than words.

The woman looked at Olivia.

Tears filled her eyes.

“Isabella.”

The name struck Olivia harder than before.

But this time...

It felt different.

Not like an accusation.

Not like a forgotten identity.

Like a piece of herself returning.

Victoria stepped forward first.

Her voice trembled.

“Who are you?”

The woman looked at her.

A sad smile appeared.

“My name is Elena Bellandi.”

Adrian immediately froze.

His face lost all color.

“Grandmother?”

Everyone turned.

The woman nodded.

“Yes.”

Adrian walked toward her slowly.

Like he was afraid she would disappear.

For decades...

He believed he was the last remaining Bellandi.

The final survivor.

The last person carrying the family name.

But now...

The woman who carried the beginning of everything had returned.

Daniel Cross watched silently.

Unlike everyone else...

He was not surprised.

And Olivia noticed.

“You knew.”

Daniel looked at her.

“Yes.”

The anger in her eyes grew.

“You knew she was alive?”

Daniel smiled.

“I knew many things.”

Ethan stepped forward.

“You've been controlling this entire investigation.”

Daniel looked at him.

“Controlling?”

A pause.

“I prefer guiding.”

Ethan's expression hardened.

“You manipulated us.”

Daniel didn't deny it.

“Because the truth had to come out.”

Richard laughed bitterly.

“People like you always say that.”

Daniel looked at him.

“And people like you always hide behind regret.”

The words hit Richard.

Because everyone knew there was truth in them.

Elena slowly entered the chapel.

She looked around.

At the walls.

The symbols.

The family history.

Then her eyes stopped on Antonio.

The two stared at each other.

Two people connected by the darkest part of the past.

Antonio finally spoke.

“You survived.”

Elena's expression was cold.

“Yes.”

A pause.

“Unlike the people you destroyed.”

Nobody missed the meaning.

Antonio looked away.

For the first time...

He looked ashamed.

Olivia stepped closer.

“Why did everyone think you were dead?”

Elena looked at her.

“Because that was the plan.”

“Whose plan?”

Elena looked toward Daniel.

Everyone followed her eyes.

Daniel remained calm.

But something changed.

A small reaction.

A tiny moment of tension.

Enough for Olivia to notice.

“You?”

Daniel smiled.

“You are very observant.”

Elena shook her head.

“No.”

Her voice became stronger.

“He was not the beginning.”

Everyone froze.

Daniel's smile disappeared.

Elena walked toward the center of the chapel.

“The Black Lotus existed long before Daniel.”

She looked at the symbol on the wall.

“It was not created to control families.”

“It was created to protect knowledge.”

Adrian frowned.

“Then how did it become this?”

Elena looked at Antonio.

“Because people always corrupt what they inherit.”

A pause.

“Power attracts people who believe they deserve more.”

She explained the truth.

Decades ago, the Bellandi family discovered something hidden beneath their ancestral land.

Not gold.

Not jewels.

Not money.

Something more dangerous.

Information.

Records.

Evidence.

Secrets about powerful families around the world.

The original Bellandi ancestors believed knowledge was the only thing that could protect humanity from those who abused power.

So they created the vault.

A place containing generations of information.

A place that could expose anyone.

Even kings.

Even billionaires.

Even governments.

The jade pendants were not keys to wealth.

They were keys to responsibility.

Olivia listened carefully.

“So why was my family destroyed?”

Elena looked at her.

“Because someone wanted the vault for themselves.”

Everyone looked toward Daniel.

But Elena shook her head.

“Not him.”

The room became confused.

Daniel's expression changed.

“Careful.”

Elena ignored him.

“The person who started this…”

She looked at Antonio.

“Was him.”

Antonio closed his eyes.

Victoria stared.

“Antonio?”

Elena nodded.

“He discovered the existence of the vault.”

“He wanted the power inside.”

“But the Bellandi family refused.”

“So he made a deal.”

“With Black Lotus?”

“Yes.”

A pause.

“But Antonio misunderstood.”

“How?”

Elena looked at Daniel.

“Black Lotus did not serve him.”

“They used him.”

Antonio finally spoke.

“You don't know what happened.”

Elena looked at him.

“I was there.”

The room became silent.

“I saw what you did.”

Antonio looked away.

“You saw nothing.”

“I saw Isabella being taken.”

“I saw Nathaniel being renamed.”

“I saw Alexander and Sophia hunted.”

A pause.

“And I saw you hesitate.”

Everyone looked surprised.

“Hesitate?”

Elena nodded.

“Yes.”

She looked at Ethan.

“Antonio was cruel.”

“But he was not the one who made the final decision.”

Ethan frowned.

“Then who did?”

Elena looked at Daniel.

Everyone followed.

Daniel's face became colder.

“You.”

The word echoed.

Daniel laughed softly.

Finally.

A real emotion.

Not control.

Not confidence.

Anger.

“You always were difficult to silence.”

Elena smiled.

“And you always wanted what was never yours.”

Ethan looked at Daniel.

“Who are you?”

Daniel removed his glasses.

For the first time...

He looked different.

Not like an investigator.

Not like a helper.

Like someone who had spent decades waiting for this moment.

“My real name is not Daniel Cross.”

A pause.

“It never was.”

He looked at Adrian.

“My family was part of Black Lotus before yours.”

Adrian frowned.

“What does that mean?”

Daniel smiled.

“It means the Bellandis were never the only family with power.”

Then Daniel revealed the truth.

The Master of Black Lotus was not inherited by blood.

It was earned.

Through control.

Through manipulation.

Through destroying anyone who stood in the way.

Daniel had spent years eliminating every person connected to the original vault.

Antonio.

Richard.

Alexander.

Even Elena.

Everyone.

But one person remained.

Olivia.

The last person who could open the vault.

Daniel stepped toward her.

“You are the final piece.”

Olivia looked at him.

“I am not a piece.”

For the first time...

Daniel stopped smiling.

Because Olivia sounded exactly like Victoria.

Strong.

Defiant.

Impossible to control.

“You still don't understand.”

Daniel said.

“The vault does not belong to you.”

Olivia replied:

“Then why are you afraid of me opening it?”

Silence.

A perfect silence.

Because she had found the weakness.

Daniel was afraid.

Suddenly...

A loud explosion shook the chapel.

The ground moved.

Everyone fell.

Smoke filled the room.

When the dust cleared...

The vault door behind the altar had opened.

Not because of Daniel.

Not because of Antonio.

Because Olivia's pendant had activated it.

Inside the vault...

Was a single object.

A small black box.

Adrian approached.

“No…”

Everyone looked.

“What?”

Adrian whispered:

“That box was never supposed to be opened.”

Ethan looked confused.

“Why?”

Elena answered.

“Because inside…”

“Is the truth about every person in this room.”

Daniel smiled again.

“Finally.”

He walked toward the vault.

“After thirty years…”

“We finally reach the beginning.”

Olivia looked inside.

And saw something that made her blood run cold.

A photograph.

A photograph taken before she disappeared.

A photograph showing:

Her.

Ethan.

And another child.

A third child.

A child nobody knew existed.

On the back of the photograph were six words:

“The third heir survived too.”

Everyone froze.

Because the mystery was no longer about two missing children.

There had always been three.

May you like

And the third one...

Was the person who had controlled everything from the shadows.
