CHAPTER 12 THE RETURN OF ANTONIO MORETTI.

The mansion lights flickered.

For a moment, nobody moved.

Nobody breathed.

Because outside the gates of the Moretti estate...

A man who was supposed to be dead was standing alive.

Antonio Moretti.

The founder.

The legend.

The man whose name was carved into every wall of the mansion.

The man whose portrait had watched over the family for thirty years.

He had returned.

The security guards stood frozen.

They looked at the identification system.

They looked at the cameras.

They looked back at the man standing calmly outside.

The same face.

The same cold eyes.

The same confident smile.

One guard whispered:

“That’s impossible.”

Antonio looked directly into the camera.

As if he could see everyone watching him.

Then he smiled.

“Open the gate.”

Nobody moved.

The guards were afraid.

Not because he was a stranger.

Because he wasn't.

He was the man who had built their entire world.

The man whose orders had once controlled everything.

Inside the mansion...

The family watched the security monitor.

Victoria covered her mouth.

Her body trembled.

Thirty years of anger.

Thirty years of pain.

Thirty years of unanswered questions.

All came rushing back.

“He's here.”

Richard stared at the screen.

His face was empty.

Not shocked.

Not surprised.

Just defeated.

Ethan noticed.

“You knew he would come back.”

Richard looked at him.

“No.”

A pause.

“I knew he never truly left.”

Ethan's expression hardened.

“And you never told anyone?”

Richard looked at the screen.

“Because nobody would have believed me.”

Ethan laughed bitterly.

“You're right.”

“Because for thirty years, nobody believed the truth.”

The front doors opened.

Antonio walked inside.

Slowly.

Confidently.

Like he had never left.

Like this mansion still belonged to him.

The entire family stood waiting.

Victoria stood in front.

Her eyes were filled with hatred.

“You.”

Antonio looked at her.

“Victoria.”

His voice was calm.

“You look older.”

The room became cold.

Ethan stepped forward.

“You disappear for thirty years.”

“You destroy people's lives.”

“You steal identities.”

“And you walk back in here like nothing happened?”

Antonio looked at him.

Then smiled.

“Nathaniel.”

Ethan froze.

Nobody had called him that except his biological father.

And now...

The man responsible for destroying his life.

Antonio walked closer.

“You finally know your real name.”

Ethan clenched his fists.

“You don't get to say it.”

Antonio tilted his head.

“Why?”

“Because I gave you the chance to survive.”

Ethan's anger exploded.

“You stole my life.”

Antonio remained calm.

“No.”

He looked around the room.

“I saved it.”

Victoria stepped forward.

“You took my daughter.”

Antonio looked at Olivia.

For the first time...

His expression changed.

Not guilt.

Not regret.

Recognition.

“So this is Isabella.”

Olivia stared at him.

“You know my name.”

Antonio smiled.

“I chose your name.”

Her face changed.

“What?”

“You were supposed to become the future of the Moretti family.”

Victoria's voice shook.

“She was my daughter.”

Antonio looked at her.

“And that was the problem.”

Silence.

“You loved her too much.”

Victoria froze.

Antonio continued:

“Love makes people weak.”

His eyes moved toward Ethan.

“Especially mothers.”

Alexander stepped forward.

“You destroyed two families.”

Antonio looked at him.

“You survived.”

A pause.

“That was your mistake.”

Alexander's expression hardened.

“You tried to kill us.”

Antonio smiled.

“No.”

Everyone looked confused.

“I tried to remove a threat.”

Alexander laughed.

“A threat?”

Antonio nodded.

“You and Sophia discovered information that could destroy generations of work.”

Sophia stepped forward.

“What information?”

Antonio looked at her.

“You already know.”

She became silent.

Olivia noticed.

“You know something.”

Sophia looked away.

Another secret.

Another lie.

Antonio walked toward the center of the room.

“I think everyone deserves the truth.”

He opened a small briefcase.

Inside were old documents.

Family records.

Birth certificates.

Historical papers.

He placed them on the table.

“The Moretti empire was never created by Antonio Moretti.”

Everyone stared.

“Then who?”

Antonio answered:

“Before the Moretti name existed…”

“There was another family.”

A pause.

“The Bellandi family.”

Victoria frowned.

“I've never heard of them.”

“Exactly.”

Antonio smiled.

“They were erased.”

Antonio explained.

Over a hundred years ago, the Bellandi family controlled a vast financial network.

They owned land.

Companies.

Investments.

But they trusted the wrong people.

The Moretti family was once only a small partner.

A family that handled their business.

Until one generation decided they wanted more.

They betrayed the Bellandis.

They took control.

They changed names.

They rewrote history.

And they built the Moretti empire on stolen power.

Ethan stared at the documents.

“Why are you telling us this?”

Antonio looked at Olivia.

“Because Isabella carries the bloodline.”

Everyone froze.

Victoria immediately stepped between them.

“Stay away from her.”

Antonio ignored her.

“The jade pendant was never just an inheritance symbol.”

He pointed toward Olivia.

“It was proof.”

“Proof that the Bellandi bloodline survived.”

Olivia touched the pendant.

“So my family…”

Antonio nodded.

“Was the original owner of everything.”

Silence.

Ethan looked at the documents.

“Then why did you raise me?”

Antonio looked at him.

“Because you were useful.”

The honesty shocked everyone.

Ethan stared.

“Useful?”

“You had Vale blood.”

“You had access to another fortune.”

“And with Isabella…”

Antonio smiled.

“You represented control over everything.”

Richard finally spoke.

“You planned all of this.”

Antonio looked at his son.

“Yes.”

Richard's face filled with pain.

“You used your own family.”

Antonio smiled.

“Family is a tool.”

The words destroyed Richard.

Because those were the words he had spent his entire life trying to escape.

Then Olivia noticed something.

A date on one of the documents.

Her eyes widened.

“Wait.”

Everyone looked at her.

“This document…”

She pointed.

“It was signed after my disappearance.”

Antonio looked at her.

“So?”

Olivia's voice became stronger.

“If I disappeared…”

“How could my blood be used to transfer ownership?”

Silence.

Everyone looked at Antonio.

For the first time...

He had no immediate answer.

Ethan noticed.

“You didn't plan everything.”

Antonio's expression changed.

Just slightly.

But enough.

Ethan stepped closer.

“There was someone else.”

Antonio remained silent.

Victoria looked at him.

“Who?”

Antonio looked toward the hallway.

And smiled.

Because someone had entered the mansion.

Someone everyone thought was gone.

A woman walked into the room.

Elegant.

Older.

Calm.

Everyone froze.

Because they knew her.

It was Evelyn Moretti.

But she was not alone.

Beside her...

Was a man.

A man carrying an old family ring.

Antonio's expression finally changed.

Fear.

Real fear.

Because he recognized him.

The man stepped forward.

And said:

“Antonio.”

A pause.

“You should have stayed dead.”

Everyone stared.

Ethan whispered:

“Who is that?”

Antonio looked at the man.

And for the first time in thirty years...

The founder of the Moretti empire looked afraid.

Because the man standing there...

Was the last person Antonio wanted to see.

May you like

The last surviving member of the Bellandi family.

The true heir.
