PART 3 â The Truth Comes Out

PART 3 â The Truth Comes Out
That evening, Preston finally reached Maya from an unfamiliar number.
"This has gone too far."
"No," Maya replied. "The slap went too far."
"I lost access to everything!"
"You mean my things."
"Our things."
"My name is on every contract."
He fell silent.
She continued.
"You never bothered reading them."
The line stayed quiet long enough for her to hear him breathing.
Then his confidence cracked.
"Maya... we can fix this."
"No."
"You can't throw away a marriage over one mistake."
She almost smiled.
"You think this marriage ended because you hit me."
"It ended because your whole family believed I'd stay after you did."
She hung up.
The next morning, security footage from the Oak Park house quietly disappeared.
Not because someone destroyed it.
Because Maya's father had already requested a legal preservation order before anyone could.
Every second remained safely archived.
Every insult.
May you like
Every threat.
Every moment.
