CHAPTER 4 — The Life They Chose

Three months later...
Snow covered the city.
Inside a quiet hospital room...
A tiny cry filled the air.
Their daughter had arrived.
Healthy.
Strong.
Perfect.
The young mother smiled through happy tears as her husband placed their newborn in her arms.
"You kept your promise," she whispered.
He shook his head.
"No."
"You did."
"You never stopped fighting for her."
Outside the room, the same elderly housekeeper waited with flowers.
She had become part of their family.
The mansion was sold.
Every painful memory disappeared with it.
Instead, they bought a smaller home overlooking a quiet lake.
No marble floors.
No crystal chandeliers.
No fear.
Just laughter.
Peace.
And the sound of little footsteps echoing through the halls.
Years later, their daughter would ask why they had never returned to the old mansion.
Her father smiled.
"Because home isn't built with money."
"It's built by the people who make you feel safe."
The little girl reached for her mother's hand.
The family walked forward together as the evening sun settled over the lake.
Behind them...
The past finally let go.
And ahead of them...
May you like
A new beginning waited.
The End.
