CHAPTER 1 — The Truth No One Could Escape

The mansion remained silent.
Not a single soul dared to breathe.
The woman in the red dress slowly stepped backward, forcing a smile that no longer reached her eyes.
"You don't understand," she whispered. "She provoked me."
The man didn't even look at her.
Every ounce of his attention remained fixed on the trembling woman in his arms.
Her breathing was uneven.
Her fingers were ice cold.
A faint purple bruise had already formed around the hand that had been trapped beneath the stiletto.
He carefully brushed a strand of hair away from her face.
"I'm here," he said quietly.
"You don't have to be afraid anymore."
For the first time that afternoon...
She believed him.
Behind them, one of the housekeepers finally found the courage to speak.
"Sir..."
"The cameras recorded everything."
The man gave a slow nod.
"Play the footage."
Within minutes, the enormous television above the fireplace came to life.
Every second appeared on the screen.
The insults.
The threats.
The cruel smile.
The gold heel crushing the pregnant woman's hand while everyone watched in silence.
Nobody could deny what had happened.
When the recording ended...
The mansion felt colder than ever.
The woman in red lowered her head.
There were no lies left to tell.
The man finally turned toward her.
His voice was calm.
But somehow...
That frightened her more than shouting ever could.
"You had every opportunity to stop."
May you like
"You chose cruelty instead."
Outside, the sound of approaching police sirens echoed through the estate.
