Chapter 5 – The Family They Chose to Become

One year later...
The Thorne Foundation opened a new women's crisis center inside Dr. Bennett's hospital.
Its mission was simple:
Protect victims before it was too late.
Khloe insisted that every service remain free.
Marcus quietly funded the entire project without attaching his name to the building.
"This was never about repairing my image," he told the board.
"It was about repairing my character."
Their son, Ethan, had just learned to walk.
Every afternoon he laughed as he chased pigeons through the hospital garden while his parents watched from a nearby bench.
Their marriage wasn't perfect.
Some scars never disappeared.
Trust had taken months to rebuild.
Some days were still difficult.
But this time...
They faced those days together.
As the sun began to set, Khloe slipped her hand into Marcus's.
"You know," she said with a gentle smile, "our son will grow up believing strength means protecting people... not controlling them."
Marcus kissed her hand.
"That's because he learned it from his mother."
Across the garden, Dr. Bennett watched his niece laughing with her family.
For the first time since that terrible night, he allowed himself to believe the nightmare was finally over.
Sometimes justice doesn't erase the past.
It simply gives the future a chance to begin.
And for the Thorne family...

That was more than enough.
The End.
