CHAPTER 4: A NEW BEGINNING

Six months later, Whitestone Manor hosted another wedding.

This time, Clara wasn't the bride.

She stood quietly in the garden, helping a nervous young couple rehearse their vows.

They had nearly canceled their ceremony because they couldn't afford the venue.

Clara refused to charge them.

"Everyone deserves one beautiful day."

The story of the bride whose dress had been torn became known across the country.

But people remembered something far more important.

Not the ripped silk.

Not the fortune she owned.

They remembered the grace she showed when she had every reason to seek revenge.

One afternoon, Andrew appeared at the gates.

He carried a small box.

Inside was the engagement ring.

"I came to give this back."

Clara looked at it for only a second.

"Keep it."

"It reminds you of your mistakes."

He nodded, tears filling his eyes.

"I'm sorry."

She smiled gently.

"I know."

Forgiveness came easily.

Trust did not.

Andrew walked away without another word.

Clara watched him disappear beyond the iron gates before turning back toward the chapel.

The music began.

Another bride stepped onto the aisle.

Another family celebrated love.

Life had continued.

And so had she.

Because true wealth was never measured by estates, diamonds, or silk dresses.

It was measured by character.

The gown Patricia destroyed could be remade.

The wedding could be canceled.

Even a broken heart could heal.

But respect, once lost, was far more difficult to restore.

And on the day everyone expected Clara Mason to become a bride...

May you like

She became something far greater—

A woman who finally chose herself.
