Julia finalized her divorce.
David received supervised visitation only after completing court-ordered counseling.
Margaret was permanently barred from contacting Mia.
The company appointed Julia as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Many employees admitted they had always known she was the real strategist behind the business.
Without her, profits had begun falling years earlier.
With her leadership, the company reached record growth.
One sunny afternoon, Julia picked Mia up from school.
"Mama?"
"Yes?"
"Is Grandma still angry?"

"I like our new life better."
Julia squeezed her daughter's hand.
