CHAPTER 19 — THE LAST SECRET OF THE LAURENT BLOODLINE

The old factory was no longer abandoned.

Not tonight.

Tonight, it became the place where a century of lies finally began to collapse.

The man standing at the entrance looked calm.

Too calm.

While everyone else was drowning in confusion, fear, and anger...

He looked like someone who had been waiting for this exact moment.

Alexander stared at him.

His face slowly lost all color.

"No..."

The old man smiled faintly.

"You remember me."

Alexander's voice was barely audible.

"Charles."

Everyone turned.

Elena looked confused.

"Who is Charles?"

Alexander didn't answer immediately.

Because saying the name aloud brought back memories he had buried for decades.

Charles Beaumont.

The man who had been his grandfather's most trusted advisor.

The man who managed Laurent family affairs.

The man who disappeared after Alexander's father died.

The man everyone believed was gone forever.

But he was standing there.

Alive.

And carrying the final secret of the Laurent Empire.

Charles walked slowly into the factory.

His eyes moved toward Lucas.

Then Adrian.

Two brothers.

Two heirs.

Two children who had suffered because of decisions made long before they were born.

"I have waited a long time to see you both standing together."

Lucas stared.

"Why?"

Charles looked at him.

"Because this family needed to remember what it forgot."

"What?"

Charles answered:

"That an empire is worthless if it destroys the people who inherit it."

Alexander stepped forward.

"You knew everything."

Charles nodded.

"You knew about the twins."

"Yes."

"You knew about Isabelle."

"Yes."

"You knew Sebastian's plan."

"Yes."

Each answer became another wound.

Alexander's voice grew colder.

"Then why didn't you stop it?"

Charles looked away.

"Because I made the same mistake everyone in this family made."

A pause.

"I protected the empire instead of protecting the people."

The words shocked everyone.

Because for the first time...

Someone admitted the truth.

The Laurent family had not been destroyed by one evil person.

It had been destroyed by generations of people choosing power over love.

Charles placed the final file on the table.

"The Laurent Empire was never supposed to belong to one heir."

Alexander opened it.

Inside were original documents.

The first company agreements.

The true founding records.

And the names of the people who built the empire.

Laurent.

Moreau.

Together.

Not enemies.

Partners.

Lucas looked at the documents.

"My mother was right."

Charles nodded.

"Isabelle discovered the truth."

"She realized the family had rewritten history."

"She found evidence that the Moreau family had been erased."

Lucas touched the pages.

"And she disappeared because of this?"

"Yes."

Alexander looked at Charles.

"But why hide the twins?"

Charles sighed.

"Because your grandfather believed the empire needed one perfect heir."

His expression became darker.

"He believed a divided bloodline would destroy everything."

Adrian laughed bitterly.

"So he destroyed us first."

Charles lowered his eyes.

"Yes."

The room became silent.

Adrian walked away from the group.

He looked around the old factory.

"This place."

Everyone looked at him.

"My mother brought me here."

Alexander froze.

"What?"

Adrian nodded.

"When I was young."

A pause.

"She told me this was where our family started."

Lucas looked surprised.

"She knew about this place?"

"Yes."

Adrian looked at Charles.

"She knew more than anyone."

Then Charles revealed the final part of Elise's journal.

A page that had been hidden.

A page that explained everything.

He opened it.

The handwriting appeared.

"If my children ever discover this truth, I want them to understand one thing."

Charles read aloud.

"Neither child was born to inherit an empire."

"They were born to end a war."

Everyone froze.

Lucas looked confused.

"A war?"

Charles nodded.

"The Laurent and Moreau families were not always united."

"For generations, they fought over control."

"The empire was built during a time when both families were destroying each other."

"But Elise Laurent and the Moreau family leader made a promise."

"What promise?"

Charles looked at Lucas and Adrian.

"That their descendants would end the conflict."

The necklace suddenly made sense.

The blue gemstone.

The symbol.

The two halves.

It was never about choosing one heir.

It was about bringing two bloodlines together.

Lucas and Adrian.

Laurent and Moreau.

Together.

Then Alexander noticed something.

A final page.

A page hidden inside the file.

He opened it.

His expression changed.

"What?"

Everyone looked at him.

He handed the paper to Lucas.

It was a legal document.

The title:

THE TRUE SUCCESSOR AGREEMENT

Lucas read the first line.

Then his hands began shaking.

"What is it?"

Alexander answered quietly:

"It says the Laurent Empire cannot be inherited by one person."

A pause.

"It must be transferred to both heirs."

Adrian looked shocked.

"So neither of us owns it."

Charles nodded.

"Exactly."

"You both decide its future."

For the first time...

The brothers looked at each other.

Not as competitors.

Not as replacements.

But as two people who had spent their lives searching for the same thing.

A place to belong.

But then...

A gunshot echoed.

Everyone froze.

The window behind Charles shattered.

Security moved instantly.

Alexander pulled Lucas down.

Adrian grabbed his brother.

The factory exploded into chaos.

Someone was shooting from outside.

Charles looked terrified.

"Impossible..."

Alexander looked at him.

"Who?"

Charles stared toward the darkness outside.

"The person who has been protecting the old secret."

A pause.

"The person who never wanted the truth revealed."

The attack stopped.

But one person was missing.

Victoria.

Lucas looked around.

"Where is she?"

Nobody answered.

Then they saw it.

A note placed on the table.

Written in Victoria's handwriting.

Alexander opened it.

Only one sentence:

"I know who ordered the attack."

Below it:

"And I am going to face them alone."

Hours later...

At an unknown location in Paris...

Victoria stood inside an old mansion.

Across from her was a person sitting in the shadows.

Someone who had controlled events for years.

Someone even Victoria feared.

The person smiled.

"You finally came."

Victoria looked determined.

"This ends tonight."

The figure laughed softly.

"No, Victoria."

A pause.

"This is where it begins."

The lights turned on.

And everyone finally saw the face behind the final conspiracy.

The person who had destroyed the Laurent family.

The person who had manipulated Sebastian.

The person who had forced Isabelle to hide.

May you like

The person who had waited fifteen years for Lucas to return.

Was someone nobody expected.
