CHAPTER 2 — The Truth on the Tablet

Alexander dropped to his knees beside his mother.
"Call an ambulance! Now!"
Servants rushed in from every direction.
Victoria stood frozen halfway down the staircase, forcing tears into her eyes.
"It... it was an accident," she whispered.
Alexander barely looked at her.
His entire focus remained on Evelyn as blood slowly stained the white marble beneath her head.
Then the head of security stepped forward.
"Sir... before the cameras are erased, you need to see this."
He handed Alexander the tablet.
Security footage filled the screen.
Every second had been recorded.
Victoria wasn't trying to stop Evelyn.
She had looked over both shoulders...
Waited until no one was watching...
Then deliberately shoved her with both hands.
Alexander's face drained of color.
Victoria's heartbeat stopped.
"No..." she muttered. "That camera wasn't supposed to be working."
Everyone heard it.
The lobby fell silent.
Alexander slowly stood.
His voice became frighteningly calm.
"You tried to kill my mother."
Victoria shook her head violently.
"I panicked... She provoked me... I didn't mean—"
"Enough."
His single word echoed through the mansion.
The guards immediately surrounded Victoria.
She suddenly realized she had lost.
May you like
Not because Alexander no longer loved her...
But because the truth had finally caught up with her.
