Autumn arrived in New York with crimson leaves and colder mornings.
Emma received a package with no return address.
Inside was a handwritten letter.
Not from Daniel.
From his younger sister, Olivia.
Emma read every word with trembling hands.
"Daniel never told you because he didn't want pity. Two years ago he was diagnosed with a rare heart condition. The surgery helped, but there's always a chance it could return. He believes every project, every building, every day matters because he knows life can change without warning."
Emma sat motionless.
Suddenly everything made sense.
His determination.
His constant travels.
His insistence on making every ordinary day meaningful.
The next morning, she boarded the first flight to Copenhagen.
When Daniel opened his apartment door...

"What are you doing here?"
