Chapter 4 – The Woman He Never Deserved

Chapter 4 – The Woman He Never Deserved
Six months later...
The corporation had achieved record profits.
Employees no longer feared entering executive meetings.
New scholarship programs honored Elena's grandfather.
Every major business magazine featured her on its cover.
Not as someone's wife.
As one of the country's most respected business leaders.
One rainy afternoon, Elena visited her grandfather's favorite park.
She placed fresh white lilies beside his memorial bench.
"I finally protected what you built."
Behind her came a familiar voice.
"Elena..."
She turned.
Daniel looked older.
His expensive suits were gone.
His confidence had disappeared with them.
"I know I don't deserve forgiveness."
"You don't."
"I lost everything."
She looked into his eyes.
"No."
"You threw everything away."
He swallowed hard.
"I loved you."
Elena smiled sadly.
"If you had loved me..."
She glanced toward the city skyline carrying her family's name.
"...you would have stood beside me."
Instead...
"You chose someone who admired your title."
She turned to leave.
Daniel reached out but stopped himself.
He finally understood.
The distance between them was no longer measured in steps.
It was measured in choices.
She walked away without looking back.
