Healing wasn't dramatic.

Tears over tiny things.
Some mornings Lily still asked if Vanessa would come back.

Months later, the trial began.
The prosecution presented every recording.
Medical reports.
Psychological evaluations.
Testimony from our housekeeper, who admitted Vanessa had threatened to ruin her if she spoke.
Even Vanessa's closest friends confessed they had witnessed disturbing behavior.
The jury deliberated for less than four hours.

On every count.
When the sentence was announced, Vanessa finally cried.
