Chapter 3: The Recordings That Changed Everything

Chapter 3: The Recordings That Changed Everything
Daniel slammed both hands onto the table.
"This is ridiculous!"
"You have no proof."
Jonathan quietly inserted one of the USB drives into the ballroom's presentation system.
The enormous screen behind the stage lit up.
A security video appeared.
Not from the ballroom.
From Daniel's private office.
The timestamp showed three months earlier.
Daniel sat behind his desk speaking with his financial adviser.
"I moved everything before Emma could see it."
The room fell silent.
Another clip began.
Daniel laughed while signing documents.
"Once the divorce is finalized, she'll leave with almost nothing."
Gasps spread through the audience.
Emma never looked at the screen.
She had watched every recording weeks ago.
Jonathan continued.
"There are twenty-six authenticated recordings."
"Four independent forensic laboratories confirmed none were altered."
Daniel's attorney suddenly stood.
"We object."
Jonathan smiled politely.
"You can't."
The attorney looked confused.
Jonathan handed him another folder.
Inside was his own signed withdrawal letter.
"What..."
"You resigned this afternoon."
"I never—"
Jonathan placed another document beside it.
"Electronic confirmation."
The attorney's face turned white.
He slowly stepped away from Daniel.
"I'm... no longer representing you."
Daniel stared in disbelief.
People who had been laughing only minutes earlier quietly moved away from his table.
No one wanted to stand beside him anymore.
Emma finally spoke.
One calm sentence.
"I begged you to tell me the truth."
"You chose humiliation instead."
May you like
Daniel opened his mouth.
Nothing came out.
