PART 3 : THE FACE IN COURT

3 : THE FACE IN COURT
The trial took place in a cold courtroom where every eye was fixed on Victoria Hale.
She appeared just as polished as the day she entered the Reed mansion. No sign of collapse. No cracks.
Her lawyers tried to frame everything as “family conflict” and “misunderstanding during grief-related child care.”
But the video did not lie.
When the footage of Emma kneeling on the kitchen floor played, the entire courtroom fell into silence. No one breathed loudly. No one moved.
Daniel did not look at Victoria. He only looked at his daughter sitting in the front row, her small hands shaking but still gripping her clothes.
For the first time, Victoria lost control.
“You set me up!” she turned toward Daniel. “You never trusted me!”
Daniel stood up, his voice calm and cold.
“I trusted you… until I saw the truth.”
In that moment, everything collapsed.
The jury did not take long to reach a verdict.
Victoria Hale was found guilty of child abuse and psychological mistreatment in a domestic environment. Her reputation didn’t just disappear—it was erased.

But for Emma, victory did not feel like relief.
Only emptiness still hurting.
