After leaving the mansion, Daniel Reed took Emma to a quiet place no one knew them—a small house in the suburbs where the past no longer echoed through the walls.
Emma didn’t cry much. That was more frightening than tears.
She became silent, withdrawn, as if the world was still punishing her for telling the truth. In the first nights, she couldn’t sleep deeply. Any small sound would make her jolt awake.
Daniel never left her side. He temporarily quit his job and refused all calls from the media and business partners. For him, there was only one priority: keeping Emma safe, both physically and emotionally.
But safety did not come immediately.
The police began investigating. The camera footage was fully extracted and reviewed. Victoria Hale was summoned. And for the first time, the woman who once appeared at every elegant gala became the center of a shocking case.
Emma was gently interviewed, accompanied by a psychologist. But every question made her tremble. Daniel held her hand tightly throughout, preventing her from breaking down.
Victoria, however… did not confess.
