Chapter 3 – Every Lie Has a Witness

Richard didn't raise his voice.

He didn't need to.

"Play the footage."

A technician standing near the security team pressed a button.

The ballroom lights dimmed.

The enormous LED screen behind the orchestra came to life.

At first...

Only silence.

Then crystal-clear surveillance footage appeared.

Every camera angle.

Every second.

There I was entering the ballroom.

Smiling politely.

Greeting guests.

Then the attacker approached.

His hand grabbed my wrist.

I pulled away.

He blocked my path.

His friends laughed.

Then...

The shove.

My body slammed against the marble pillar.

Gasps filled the ballroom.

The footage continued.

He struck me again.

Blood appeared.

Not one guest intervened.

Not one.

Instead...

Several people watched while sipping champagne.

One woman even smiled.

The screen went black.

No one could look away.

Richard folded his hands behind his back.

"This recording has already been copied."

His voice echoed through the room.

"Twelve encrypted backups."

"Three international law firms."

"Federal investigators."

"The media."

"And the insurance board."

Faces turned white.

A senator slowly loosened his tie.

One billionaire quietly sat down.

Another whispered,

"We're finished."

The attacker finally found his voice.

"It wasn't supposed to—"

Richard looked at him.

The sentence died instantly.

Then Richard spoke one final time.

"Arrest every person directly involved."

The security team moved immediately.

Not violently.

Professionally.

Handcuffs clicked one after another.

The sound echoed through the ballroom like a countdown.

For the first time in years...

Money bought nothing.

Status meant nothing.

May you like

Connections meant nothing.

Only evidence remained.
