Chapter 3 — The Truth

Chapter 3 — The Truth

The first recording played.

The guests watched in complete silence.

There I was...

Walking peacefully into the ballroom.

Smiling politely.

Greeting strangers.

Then he appeared.

Arrogant.

Drunk.

Demanding I dance with him.

I declined.

Once.

Twice.

Three times.

The fourth time...

He grabbed my wrist.

The fifth...

He shoved me.

The sixth...

He slammed me into the marble wall.

The crack echoed through the speakers.

Several women covered their mouths.

A judge lowered his eyes.

A senator quietly stepped away from the attacker.

His own business partners began moving away as though standing beside him had become dangerous.

His lawyer whispered,

"Don't say another word."

His father rushed forward.

"This is a misunderstanding."

I looked at him.

"No."

"It's evidence."

Another recording appeared.

His friends laughing.

Encouraging him.

Blocking witnesses.

Preventing anyone from helping me.

Every face was visible.

Every voice was crystal clear.

One by one...

Their confidence disappeared.

The commander stepped forward.

"Police have arrived."

The attacker looked at me with desperate eyes.

"You don't have to ruin my life."

I answered without anger.

"You made that decision the moment you chose violence."

The steel doors slowly opened.

Police officers entered.

Handcuffs clicked.

Not just one pair.

Several.

The room watched as power, wealth, and family names failed to stop justice.

Outside...

Television cameras had already gathered.

Every guest would leave through a corridor lined with reporters.

There would be no secret exit.

No quiet settlement.

May you like

No disappearing before sunrise.

The truth belonged to everyone now.
