A gasp rippled through the marble courtyard.
The billionaire slowly rose from the wheelchair.
Not dramatically.
Not with anger.
Simply... standing.
The sound of expensive champagne glasses hitting the floor echoed louder than anyone's screams.

She stumbled backward.
"You're... walking."

"I've been able to walk for almost three months."

Every guest stared at him.

"The hospital reports..."

Confusion spread through the crowd.
The family's longtime attorney stepped forward carrying a leather folder.
"Miss Vanessa Cole," he announced calmly. "Mr. Ashford initiated an internal loyalty investigation ninety-two days ago."
The attorney placed several photographs on the glass table.
Vanessa meeting secretly with Damian's business rival.
Another photograph.
Accepting a diamond necklace worth nearly two million dollars.

Signing confidential documents inside a private club.
Her face drained of color.
"You were spying on me?"
Damian looked at her with quiet disappointment.
"No."
"I was giving you every opportunity to prove everyone else wrong."
She swallowed hard.
"I loved you."

His voice remained calm.
"You loved my name."
"My money."
"My future."
"And the moment you believed those were gone..."
He looked toward the wheelchair.
"You abandoned me before I ever stood up."
Security officers entered the patio.
Vanessa reached for Damian.
He stepped away.
"Our engagement ended the second you chose wealth over loyalty."
The guests expected applause.
Instead...
The quiet sob of the housemaid drew every eye.
Emma still knelt on the shattered crystal, carefully folding the velvet blanket.
She wasn't crying because Damian could walk.
She was crying because she thought he would never forgive Vanessa.
She had no idea the biggest secret had nothing to do with the fake accident.
