Chapter 2: Every Camera Told the Truth

Chapter 2: Every Camera Told the Truth

The estate's surveillance room had recorded everything.

Not every corner of the staircase.

But enough.

Ruiz watched without speaking.

The blonde paced the hallway minutes before the confrontation.

She checked repeatedly to make sure no one else was nearby.

Then she deliberately blocked the pregnant woman's path.

The argument escalated.

Frame by frame...

The footage showed a violent shove.

No stumble.

No accident.

A shove.

Ruiz paused the video.

"There."

The room fell silent.

The caretaker covered her mouth.

"I... I thought she fell..."

The pregnant woman remained calm.

"I knew she would eventually try something."

Ruiz turned toward her.

"That's why you called me before today?"

She nodded.

"For three months."

The detective opened a thick investigation file.

Inside were dozens of complaints.

Threatening messages.

Hidden recordings.

Witness statements.

Medical reports.

The staircase was never the beginning.

It was only the final piece.

The blonde suddenly laughed.

A desperate laugh.

"You have no proof I meant to kill her."

Ruiz slowly closed the file.

"We haven't even shown you the strongest evidence."

The smile disappeared from her face.
