Chapter 2 – The Evidence No One Saw

The mansion fell silent after the call.

The blonde woman continued crying into the caretaker's shoulder, convinced everyone believed her.

She didn't notice the tiny red light blinking on the pregnant woman's phone.

The call with Detective Ruiz had never disconnected.

Everything inside the foyer had been recorded.

Every scream.

Every lie.

Every second after the shove.

Within four minutes, police cars rolled through the front gates.

Detective Ruiz entered with two officers and an evidence technician.

His eyes went straight to the pregnant woman.

"Is the baby moving?"

She nodded weakly.

"Barely."

An ambulance crew rushed to stabilize her.

Meanwhile, the blonde woman instantly changed her expression.

She pointed toward the stretcher.

"She attacked me first!"

Ruiz didn't answer.

Instead, he looked at the caretaker.

"You witnessed everything?"

The old woman hesitated.

"I... I thought I did."

Ruiz calmly held up his phone.

"The emergency line has been recording since before the victim hit the floor."

The blonde woman's face lost all color.

Then the evidence technician spoke.

"Detective... there's another camera."

Everyone looked up.

Hidden inside the crystal chandelier was a tiny security camera.

Someone had been recording the foyer for weeks.
