“I think he wants the piano,” Logan said.
Vanessa let out a small, disbelieving laugh. “No, he doesn’t. He’s overstimulated. Take him upstairs, Logan.”
But Noah moved first.
A tiny shift. A break in stillness.
One step forward.
Logan felt it immediately through their connected hands.
“Noah…” he whispered.
The boy took another step.
Then stopped.
The piano began to play.
Soft. Slow. Delicate.
And Noah changed.
His breathing caught. His fingers loosened from Logan’s hand—not letting go, but no longer clinging. His entire body leaned toward the sound like it was pulling him by something invisible.
Vanessa frowned. “This is ridiculous.”
But Logan wasn’t listening anymore.
Because Noah was doing something he had never done before.
He was responding without fear.
Logan crouched slightly. “Do you want to go closer?”

But Noah moved again.
