Part 2: THE TRUTH BENEATH THE VEIL

The music stopped completely.

Guests began to murmur, but no one dared speak loudly.

Alexander stepped forward slowly, like a man walking into a memory he had tried to bury.

“Where did you see her before?” he asked the maid.

The maid swallowed hard. “In the orphan records, sir. I recognized her face… she’s the child from the hospital fire fifteen years ago.”

The bride shook her head violently. “No! That’s impossible! I was raised in an orphanage!”

But Alexander’s eyes darkened.

“Her name…” he said slowly. “Was supposed to be Emily Reed.”

The bride froze.

That name—she had never heard it before.

And yet it felt like something inside her cracked open.

Suddenly, an old photograph was placed on the table by the maid.

A young Alexander.

A woman he once loved.

And a baby… with the same eyes as the bride.

The hall erupted into chaos.

But Alexander raised his hand.

Silence returned instantly.

Because for the first time in fifteen years…

He was looking at his daughter.

At his bride.
