The security footage.
Then I handed her something else.
Three years of financial statements.
Margaret raised an eyebrow.
"These aren't related."

I opened another folder.
Luxury hotels.

Apartments.
Every expense had been hidden inside Ethan's business reimbursements.

Vanessa Blake.
Margaret leaned back slowly.
"He used marital assets."

"And he documented everything."
"He thought I'd never look."
She smiled for the first time.
"Rachel... this is no longer just a divorce."
"It isn't?"
"No."
She tapped the stack of papers.
"This is fraud."
By noon, Ethan's managing partners received anonymous copies of the financial records.
By two o'clock, the board suspended him pending investigation.
By four, Vanessa's employment was terminated.
Neither of them knew I had been quietly collecting evidence for almost eighteen months.
I had suspected the affair.
I simply never imagined it would end with my daughter becoming the victim.
At six that evening, Ethan appeared at my door alone.
"They fired Vanessa."
I said nothing.
"They suspended me."

He looked around the house.
"Can I see Lily?"
"No."

"Our daughter is terrified to hear your name."
His shoulders collapsed.

He lowered his head.
"I never told Vanessa to shave Lily."
I believed him.
But it didn't matter anymore.
