The mansion fell silent after Elena walked out.
Daniel remained frozen in the foyer.
For the first time in years, no one looked at him for instructions.

He called the Chairman of the Board.

Then his company email began exploding.

Emergency board resolutions.
Access restrictions.
Finally...
One message arrived.
Your executive credentials have been suspended pending board confirmation.
Daniel stared at the screen.

Across town, Elena's black SUV stopped in front of the company's headquarters.
The board members were already waiting.
Every director stood as she entered.
No applause.
Only respect.
The chairman smiled.
"Welcome back, Ms. Ward."
She nodded calmly.
"Let's begin."
The financial reports covered the conference table.

Lavish executive spending.
Daniel had chased headlines while Elena quietly protected the company from collapse.

The chairman signed the resolution.
"Daniel Ward is officially removed as Chief Executive Officer."
No one objected.
