PART 2: THE LETTER

Ethan unfolded the letter with shaking hands.

The first line hit him harder than any punch.

"If you're reading this, it means I finally stopped begging you to choose us."

His vision blurred.

He continued reading.

For years, Sarah had defended him.

Excused him.

Forgiven him.

Ignored every broken promise.

Every forgotten anniversary.

Every moment she felt alone inside their marriage.

But the day she lay bleeding and terrified while he boarded a private jet for a birthday vacation...

Something inside her died.

"You didn't abandon me during an emergency, Ethan."

"You revealed who you truly are."

Tears filled his eyes.

The letter continued.

Sarah explained that during her recovery she learned something unexpected.

Something she had never known.

Something Ethan himself didn't know.

Daniel Foster wasn't simply a lawyer.

He was Sarah's biological cousin.

Months earlier, Daniel had located her after years of searching.

Sarah had been adopted as an infant.

Her biological family had spent decades looking for her.

When Daniel discovered how she had been treated, he contacted the rest of the family.

And they came.

Not because Sarah was sick.

Because they finally found her.

Ethan sat frozen.

Daniel quietly spoke.

"Your wife isn't alone anymore."

He slid another document across the table.

An inheritance record.

Ethan blinked.

Then blinked again.

The number was impossible.

Sarah had inherited a substantial share of a family-owned international company worth hundreds of millions.

She hadn't told Ethan.

Not because she didn't trust him.

Because she hadn't even finished processing the news herself before ending up in the hospital.

Daniel folded his hands.

"She asked us not to tell you until she decided what she wanted."

Ethan swallowed hard.

"What does she want?"

Daniel's answer came immediately.

"A divorce."

The word shattered the room.

Ethan buried his face in his hands.

Everything was falling apart.

His marriage.

His family.

His future.

But Daniel wasn't finished.

"There is one more thing."

Ethan slowly looked up.

"What?"

Daniel's eyes softened.

"The person who found Sarah unconscious wasn't a stranger."

"Then who was it?"

Daniel hesitated.

"Your father."

Ethan stared.

His father had been dead for seven years.

At least, that's what he believed.

And suddenly the biggest secret of his life was about to be exposed.
