Chapter 3: One Year Later

Exactly one year later...

Daniel stood in the same city.

Different building.

Different future.

The company he almost lost had doubled in value.

His employees weren't celebrating a wedding.

They were celebrating the opening of a new children's education foundation Daniel had quietly funded.

During the ceremony, a young reporter asked him one question.

"Do you regret calling off your wedding?"

Daniel smiled for the first time.

"I regret trusting the wrong person."

He paused.

"But I don't regret walking away."

Across town...

Emily watched the interview from a small apartment she could barely afford.

The luxury cars...

The designer clothes...

The endless vacations...

Everything had disappeared.

The people who once surrounded her had vanished the moment the money did.

She switched off the television.

For the first time in her life...

There was no one left to blame.

Meanwhile, Daniel stepped outside the foundation and looked toward the children laughing in the courtyard.

He realized something simple.

The greatest revenge had never been exposing Emily.

It had been refusing to become the victim she expected.

Some weddings begin a marriage.

His canceled wedding began a better life.

And as the sun disappeared beyond the horizon...

Daniel smiled, knowing that sometimes the happiest ending starts the moment you walk away.
