PART 3: THE EYE OPENS

Two nights later, the hospital changed.

Security increased.

Camille had brought in private guards under the excuse of “protecting his condition.”

But Sebastian recognized what it really was.

Control.

She was closing the net.

That night, she came alone again.

But this time, she wasn’t smiling.

“You’re becoming expensive to keep alive,” she whispered.

Her voice was sharp now.

No performance left.

“I need resolution.”

She leaned closer.

“Tomorrow, they will declare you non-recoverable if there’s no change.”

A pause.

“And I will be ready.”

She kissed his forehead.

Longer this time.

Not affectionate.

Possessive.

Then she whispered:

“Goodbye, Sebastian.”

And she left.

Silence swallowed the room.

Minutes passed.

Then—

Hannah entered again.

She stopped immediately.

Something felt wrong.

The air.

The stillness.

She walked to the bed slowly.

“Mr. Rossi?”

Nothing.

Then—

A sound.

Not from machines.

From him.

A breath.

Deliberate.

Controlled.

Hannah stepped back instinctively.

The heart monitor spiked slightly, then stabilized again.

Her eyes widened.

“You’re…”

The blanket shifted.

Just slightly.

Then Sebastian Rossi opened his eyes.

Fully.

After six days of death disguised as sleep…

The man who built empires looked at the only person who hadn’t tried to own him.

And said, in a voice barely above silence:

“I heard everything.”

Hannah couldn’t move.

Sebastian slowly removed the oxygen mask.

No rush.

No panic.

Just certainty returning to a body that had been waiting for permission.

His gaze sharpened.

“Now,” he whispered, “tell me everything you saw.”

She hesitated.

Then nodded.

Outside the room, unaware of what had just changed…

Camille Sterling was preparing a funeral for a man who was no longer asleep.

She was preparing to bury him.

But Sebastian Rossi had already started burying her future.

FINAL CHAPTER

The war had already begun.

Camille just hadn’t realized the battlefield had changed.

And for the first time in years, Sebastian Rossi was no longer a man being hunted.

He was the one who had opened his eyes.

And was ready to finish it.

The dead don’t stay silent forever. And neither do empires.
