Chapter 3 – His Last Chance

Three days later...
Olivia sat inside Dixon Holdings headquarters.
Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooked the city skyline.
She signed contracts while executives waited respectfully.
Then her assistant entered.
"Mrs. Dixon."
"Mr. Chad Lawson is downstairs."
"He says he'll wait all day."
Olivia looked out the window.
"Let him."
Six hours passed.
Rain began falling.
Chad never left.
Finally...
Olivia agreed to meet him.
He stepped into the boardroom looking nothing like the confident man who had thrown her onto the driveway.
His expensive watch was gone.
His tailored suits had been sold.
Dark circles surrounded his eyes.
He slowly dropped to one knee.
"I'm sorry."
"I was manipulated."
"I made the biggest mistake of my life."
"I still love you."
Silence filled the room.
Olivia looked at him for a long moment.
Then she placed one photograph on the table.
It showed her standing outside the mansion.
Pregnant.
Alone.
Her suitcase lying in the rain.
"Do you remember this?"
Chad lowered his head.
She slid another photograph beside it.
It showed Victoria laughing while Olivia's belongings were thrown onto the driveway.
Then another.
The security footage.
Every insult.
Every shove.
Every cruel smile.
Recorded forever.
"You didn't lose me because you were poor."
"You lost me because you believed I had no value."
Tears rolled down Chad's face.
"I'm begging you..."
"Please."
"For our child."
Olivia gently rested her hand on her stomach.
"Our child deserves a father."
She paused.
"But I deserve peace."
She stood.
"Security."
The doors opened.
Two guards escorted Chad out without resistance.
This time...
He didn't fight.

Because deep inside...
He knew she was right.
