Chapter 2 – Every Lie Has a Witness

My father raised one hand.
"Play the footage."
The ballroom lights dimmed.
A massive screen descended from the ceiling.
Every security camera recording from the evening began playing.
There was no editing.
No missing moments.
The video showed everything.
The insults.
The threats.
The shove.
His fist striking my face.
The laughter that followed.
The guests who stood by and watched.
Some even applauded.
One by one...
Their own faces appeared on the giant screen.
Gasps echoed across the ballroom.
Several businessmen immediately tried to hide.
One politician nearly collapsed into a chair.
A famous actress burst into tears.
"I didn't mean..."
"I was scared..."
"I couldn't interfere..."
My father interrupted them.
"No."
"You chose not to."
He looked toward the legal team waiting near the entrance.
"Every recording has already been copied."
"Every file has been sent to the police."
"And to every major news network."
The attacker lunged toward the screen in desperation.
"Stop it!"
Two security officers restrained him instantly.
His expensive suit was torn.
His perfect image shattered.
For years he had controlled people through fear.
Tonight...
Fear controlled him.
I stepped closer.
"You believed power meant no one could stop you."
He lowered his head.
"I was wrong."
May you like
"No."
"You were finally exposed."
