One week later, the foundation invited everyone to a private hearing.
Melissa arrived wearing designer clothes and oversized sunglasses.
Our mother walked beside her, already angry.
The trustees played the wedding video.

"Then explain why multiple text messages from two weeks before the wedding describe your plan."
A large monitor lit up.

'This will remind my sister she's not better than me.'

The room fell silent.
Then another message appeared.
It had been sent by our mother.
'Don't worry. I'll make sure no one takes her side.'
My mother went pale.

"It wasn't supposed to go this far."
The chairman answered without emotion.
"It went exactly as far as you planned."
After reviewing every document, the board reached its decision.
Melissa permanently lost her inheritance.
